Kwinana Law & Order: Why are we paying for Council’s silence?
Kwinana residents are tired of being woken up. Whether it’s the roar of illegal dirt bikes, the screech of midnight hooning, or finding fresh damage to our parks and roundabouts, law and order in our suburbs is sliding.
While our community feels less safe, where is our Council? Instead of fighting for us, your rate dollars are being swallowed by bloated CEO salaries, executive perks, and the endless funding of the Boola Maara committee. The City finds money for internal bureaucracy and political projects, but it is the humble ratepayer who is left to pay the bill to fix the vandalism and hooning damage.
It is time to stop the excuses.
We know policing is a State responsibility, but the Council’s job is to be our loudest advocate. We demand three simple things for transparency:
- A formal letter from the Council to the Police Minister demanding more officers and resources for Kwinana.
- The publication of that letter—and the Minister’s reply—on the City website for every ratepayer to read.
- Monthly updates: Repeat this process every month so residents can see exactly who is responsible for the neglected police numbers in our community.
Kwinana residents will keep this in mind at the next State Election. To the Councillors and City administration: Asking questions isn’t “shaming” anyone. It’s about making sure the people we voted for are actually standing up for us. If the City is truly pushing for our safety, there is nothing to hide.
It is time to move past the hollow rhetoric and the constant spin. Your history of inaction is a testament to the Council’s true priorities, and Kwinana residents deserve better
