About
Angry Locals with Megaphones (ALWM Group) is simply neighbours standing up for our local area. We aren’t politicians, we don’t have corporate backers, and we aren’t tied to the City of Kwinana Council or any political party. We’re just passionate residents who love Kwinana and want to ensure our community stays a vibrant, fair, and welcoming place for everyone.
How We Started
A few of us got together after noticing the council wasn’t truly listening to what locals wanted. We were tired of getting the runaround whenever we asked straightforward questions about ratepayer money and local decisions.
What started as a few frustrated neighbours speaking up over coffee grew into an organised, positive team keeping a watchful eye on local, state, and federal government decisions. Together, we bring clarity, transparency, and an honest local voice to everything happening in Kwinana.
What We Stand For
- 100% Independent: No government or party money, ever. We answer only to our neighbours.
- Open & Transparent: Showing where public funds are spent and calling for full transparency when decisions or costs are kept behind closed doors.
- Locals First: Protecting our valued green spaces, supporting thoughtful local development, and safeguarding our neighborhood way of life against state planning rules—like state Development Assessment Panels (DAPs)—that can take decision-making power away from residents.
- Just the Facts: No rumours or guesswork—we stick strictly to verified facts from official council minutes, public reports, and official documents.
Powered by the Community
ALWM Group is 100% volunteer-run by everyday locals. We don’t charge membership fees or subscriptions. We rely on community support and small donations from residents who buy our team a coffee to help cover basic running costs and keep our work going.
